This page explains what cookies EcoBiteLife uses, why, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets a site remember something between page views, such as a preference you set or whether you have seen a notice before. Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by third parties whose code runs on our pages.
What we currently use
We want to be specific rather than list every category a site might theoretically use.
- Strictly necessary. WordPress may set a session or security cookie when you interact with the site, for example when submitting the contact form. These are required for the site to work and are not used to track you.
- Analytics and advertising (Google). This site loads Google tags supplied through Google Site Kit and Google Ads. When these run, Google may set cookies that measure how the site is used and support advertising. These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and we do not control what they collect. Google explains its own use of cookies in its cookie policy.
- Google AdSense. If and when advertising is served here, Google AdSense and its partners may set advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
Controlling cookies
You can control cookies in several places:
- Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies for any site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site working.
- Google’s Ads Settings control ad personalisation across Google services.
- Industry opt-outs are available at optout.aboutads.info, optout.networkadvertising.org and, in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu.
How consent works here
On your first visit you are asked whether to accept cookies, before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. This is not a cosmetic notice: the site declares Google’s consent signals as denied by default, so Google’s tags withhold those cookies until you accept. If you decline, they stay denied.
You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Strictly necessary cookies are not covered by this choice, because the site cannot function without them.
Questions
If you want to know what a specific cookie on this site does, ask us through the contact page and we will tell you.
